World war two question?

I agree with Doc. He has the best answer on this one. The other information about Egypt, however, is also correct. It was the center for oil redistribution at the time, and the Suez C was of major importance to the war effort. The whole point of Rommel's Africa Corps was the long shot to seize the oil for Germany, and thus take it away from the Allies, most notably England. This led to a Battle, although small in scale, compared to other great battles of the war, at El Alamein. This was the turning point against Rommel in Africa, creating a great Gereral, Montgomery, and smashing most of Rommel's tanks.
