What species of bear is snuggles?

Obviously the snuggles mascot is a teddy bear, but what is his actual species? Most fictional bears have a species, such as Winnie the Pooh, who is a Pooh bear (although based on a black bear), and the Berenstain Bears, who appear to be brown bears.
