Ok so if oxygen is not flammable, but supports combustion and makes fires burn.?

My question is this. In a low pressure O2 supply system if you open a valve too quickly it can explode violently and blow up the flask. If O2 is not flammable then what is causing the explosion and what is burning if there is no fire to ignite the oxygen?
