Ukraine threw out the Communists in their last election and no media coverage of a western victory why not?

it was a victory for a political party in Ukraine, If you want a lot of coverage read European papers ,like Moscow times or Eastern Europe Today both in English, but I fail to see how this was a western victory, the Communist party is still a political option and can run in the next election cycle. the cold war is over... pal does 1989 ring a bell.
